THE PROJECT
Ellsworth/Lim began working with The Siam in 2020, when the pandemic created a rare window to photograph the property without operational constraints. What began as a single brief became an enduring visual partnership. Over 300 images and numerous cinematic assets have since been produced across every area of the hotel including rooms, courtyard, pool, spa, dining and the reclaimed Thai architectural structures that define its cultural identity.
THE APPROACH
The Siam rewards patience. The courtyard's geometry and monochrome palette shift dramatically with the light. Morning sun through the hanging ferns reads completely differently from the same space at dusk. Texture is equally central: the aged teak, antique lacquerwork and rough-cut stone against polished marble communicate the depth of Bill Bensley's design intent and the cultural authenticity the Sukosol family has built into every corner of the property. Every frame is built around those specific qualities, not a generic idea of luxury.
