Visual Excellence is Our Baseline...
The brands and properties that trust us with their visual identity share one conviction: that a photograph is not a record of what exists, but an argument for why it matters.
We work at the intersection of architecture, identity and light, bringing the same rigour to a flagship retail space as to a 200-key resort, the same understanding of brand to an independent boutique hotel as to a global hospitality group.
How We Deliver Visual Excellence...
The Studio
Beyond Photography
Since 2013, Ellsworth/Lim has partnered with luxury hospitality brands, architects, designers and developers to create visual assets that shape perception, strengthen brand identity and elevate asset value. Our work extends beyond image-making. We understand design, construction, operations, guest experience and the commercial realities behind luxury properties—allowing us to create imagery with purpose, not simply decoration.
-
Co-founded by Sven Ellsworth and Sin Lim, Ellsworth/Lim creates photography and motion content for luxury hospitality brands, architects, developers, and private clients worldwide.
With Visual Excellence as its baseline, the studio translates brand identity, design intent, and guest experience into photography and motion content that elevates perception, strengthens market presence, and preserves architectural legacy. From internationally recognized hospitality destinations to confidential private investment properties, Ellsworth/Lim is trusted to document exceptional spaces with precision, discretion, and a deep understanding of luxury brands.
Guided by a disciplined approach to light, composition, and storytelling, the studio creates visual assets that support immediate marketing objectives while contributing to the long-term value of the brands and properties they represent.

Minor Hotels / Corporate Approved Visual Partner Since 2017
34 Properties. Five Brands. 12 Countries. One Consistent Visual Standard.
In 2017, Ellsworth/Lim became the first photographer formally approved by Minor Hotels corporate to shoot across all five of its luxury and lifestyle brands. What began as a single commission has grown into one of the most extensive visual partnerships in Asian hospitality — spanning Anantara, Avani, Tivoli, Oaks and the private island collections of the Maldives.
Over eight years and 34 properties, we have navigated every condition the industry presents. Pre-opening shoots where guest rooms are completed hours before the camera arrives. Monsoon seasons in Sri Lanka that rewrite the schedule daily. Architectural commissions in Qatar where midday heat renders outdoor shooting impossible before 5am or after 7pm. Resorts in Cambodia where access logistics alone require days of planning. Private islands in the Maldives where every piece of equipment arrives by speedboat and weather windows close without warning.
Each commission begins the same way — understanding what the property needs to communicate, to whom, and across which markets. The result is never simply a library of images. It is a complete visual asset ecosystem: architecture, interiors, F&B, lifestyle, aerial, cinematic — every file formatted, captioned and delivered for immediate deployment across OTA listings, brand websites, sales decks, press kits and social channels.
From the overwater villas of Anantara Kihavah to the hilltop retreat of Anantara Vilamoura, from the urban sophistication of Avani Riverside Bangkok to the cultural immersion of Anantara Angkor — every property receives the same rigour, regardless of scale, location or complexity.
This is what a preferred visual partnership looks like.

Inside the Decision-Making Process
Five Strategic Questions We Regularly Discuss With Owners, Asset Managers, General Managers & Brand Leaders.
-
Yes. In luxury hospitality, delayed handovers are the rule rather than the exception. We routinely work around ongoing construction, incomplete landscaping, phased openings and operational constraints. The goal is not simply to hide problems, but to strategically prioritize what is ready, identify the strongest visual opportunities and create launch assets that support commercial objectives without compromising credibility.
-
These objectives are not mutually exclusive. We structure productions to deliver both aspirational brand imagery and comprehensive asset documentation within a single shoot. Marketing teams receive emotionally engaging content that drives perception and demand, while ownership and asset managers receive the broad visual coverage required for reporting, sales, development and operational needs.
-
Every property has been photographed. Very few have been interpreted. Our process begins by understanding the brand positioning, guest journey, design intent and competitive landscape. Rather than simply documenting spaces, we create imagery that reveals what makes a property memorable, allowing it to stand apart in an increasingly crowded luxury marketplace.
-
Absolutely. Modern hospitality brands require visual assets across multiple channels and platforms. We approach every production as an asset-generation strategy rather than a photography assignment. A carefully planned shoot can produce content for websites, advertising campaigns, social media, public relations, sales presentations, investor communications and future marketing initiatives, maximizing both efficiency and return on investment.
-
Healthy debate often produces the strongest work. We are hired not only to execute but to contribute expertise. If different opinions emerge, we focus on the project's objectives, the brand's long-term interests and the intended audience. Collaboration is essential, but so is professional guidance. Our responsibility is to advocate for the strongest visual solution while ensuring every stakeholder feels heard and respected throughout the process.
